Recent Texas Projects: Accent Walls & Media Walls in Houston and Dallas

A wall can bring a room together through texture, lighting, storage, or a combination of all three. These four projects, completed together with our local partners in Houston and Dallas, show different ways to approach that transformation.

From a full-height wood slat accent wall to a complete fireplace entertainment center, each project offers ideas you can adapt to your own home.

Houston: Fireplace Media Wall with Blue LED Lighting

Wood slat panels, a fireplace feature, and blue LED lighting give this Houston media wall a distinctive contemporary direction.

The combination brings together the texture of wood and the visual impact of colored light. It’s an expressive approach for homeowners who want their entertainment area to stand out and take on a different atmosphere in the evening.

An idea for your home: Consider lighting alongside the wall’s materials from the beginning. Both influence the character of the finished space.

Dallas: Full-Height Wood Slat Accent Wall

This Dallas project focuses on one clear design feature: wood slats extending through the full height of the wall.

The repeated lines create texture and draw attention upward. It’s an approach that gives a plain surface more character while keeping the overall design simple.

For homeowners exploring custom accent walls, a full-height slat treatment offers an alternative to painted trim or a more elaborate built-in composition.

An idea for your home: A single material can make a strong impression when its scale and layout work with the room.

Dallas: Custom Concrete-Effect and Wood Slat TV Wall

This custom Dallas TV wall brings together three contrasting elements: a projecting upper section with a concrete-effect finish, recessed wood slats, and a wide base finished with polished black granite tile.

The contrast is as much about depth as it is about materials. The upper section projects forward, the slats sit behind it, and the dark base anchors the composition. Concealed wiring keeps the television area visually clean.

This project does not include a fireplace. The flames visible in the project photographs are an image displayed on the television.

It’s an example of how custom media walls can create an architectural focal point through shape and texture alone.

An idea for your home: If a fireplace isn’t part of your plans, carefully proportioned surfaces and contrasting finishes can still give your TV wall a strong identity.

Houston: Built-In Fireplace Media Wall with Storage

This Houston installation combines a television, linear electric fireplace, concealed storage, and illuminated display shelves in one coordinated wall.

A light stone-look center panel frames the television, while wood-veneer niches introduce warmth on either side. The long floating cabinet provides storage, and lighting beneath the shelves and cabinet adds depth.

The surrounding architecture also shaped the design. Positioned between a staircase opening and a column, the installation incorporates crown molding to connect the new feature with the existing interior.

For homeowners considering custom built-ins, this project shows how practical storage and display space can become part of the room’s main focal point.

An idea for your home: Plan what you need to store and display before deciding on the final layout. Those everyday needs should help shape the design.

Local Teams, a Shared Approach

We completed these projects together with our Texas partners, combining local installation expertise with a shared focus on design, workmanship, and clear communication.

The results look different because the homes and project goals are different. Some spaces benefit from a focused wall treatment. Others call for cabinetry, lighting, and a fireplace designed as one composition.

The starting point is your room—and what you want to do with it.
