Gray stone and illuminated niches in Pasadena. Deep green shiplap and built-in storage in Santa Ana. White trim and soft pistachio walls in a Los Angeles bedroom.
These three recent projects, completed together with our local partners, show different sides of Avileve — Custom Wall Design: complete entertainment features, practical cabinetry, and architectural details that bring a room together.
Pasadena: A Stone Fireplace Media Wall with Illuminated Niches
In this Pasadena living room, a floor-to-ceiling stone centerpiece connects the wall-mounted television and linear electric fireplace. Gray stacked-stone cladding gives the center depth, contrasting with the smooth painted surfaces on either side.
A stained wood mantel introduces a warm brown tone between the screen and fireplace. Its simple shape creates a horizontal break in the stone, with a soundbar positioned beneath it.
Three recessed display niches on each side frame the centerpiece. Each opening has its own overhead light, providing space for photographs, decorative objects, and personal pieces.
The result combines entertainment, fireplace ambiance, and display space in one balanced feature. The stone provides texture, the mantel adds warmth, and the illuminated niches soften the overall composition.
Project highlights: Gray stacked stone · Wood mantel · Electric fireplace · Six illuminated display niches
Santa Ana: Green Shiplap with a Fireplace and Built-In Storage
This Santa Ana project in Orange County uses color to define the entertainment area.
Deep green horizontal shiplap forms the backdrop for the television and linear electric fireplace. Lighter built-ins flank the center, creating contrast while keeping the layout symmetrical.
The side units combine open display shelves with closed lower cabinets. Warm lighting highlights the shelf niches, and shiplap backing repeats the horizontal detail from the central wall. This connection helps the cabinetry and media feature feel like parts of the same design.
A substantial stained wood mantel separates the television from the fireplace. Its visible grain adds warmth to the painted finishes, while crown molding and vertical trim complete the architectural frame.
This installation brings together the functions a living room often needs: a place for the screen, room to display personal objects, and storage that keeps everyday items out of sight.
Project highlights: Deep green shiplap · Light painted cabinetry · Illuminated shelves · Closed storage · Stained wood mantel
Los Angeles: White Board and Batten with Pistachio Bedroom Walls
The bedroom project takes a quieter approach, using painted trim and a soft two-tone palette throughout the room.
White board-and-batten detailing defines the lower walls. Vertical battens meet a continuous horizontal rail, creating a repeated pattern while leaving the existing wall texture visible between the trim pieces.
Above the rail, muted pistachio paint adds gentle color. It complements the wooden furniture, neutral bedding, and warm bedside lighting without dominating the space.
The treatment continues around corners and beneath the window. Rather than focusing only on the wall behind the bed, it connects the sleeping area, reading corner, and window wall into one cohesive interior.
The finished room has a boutique-inspired character, achieved through consistent detailing and a restrained palette.
Project highlights: White board and batten · Muted pistachio paint · Full-room wall treatment · Coordinated trim details
Three Different Approaches to a More Personal Home
These projects illustrate how the scope can follow the room.
In Pasadena, stone and display niches create an architectural focal point. In Santa Ana, the entertainment center combines expressive color with useful storage. In Los Angeles, a continuous wall treatment gives the whole bedroom a more finished feel.
A project can begin with a particular material, a favorite color, or a practical need. The design brings those choices together around the space you already have.
