Two Ways to Build Custom Built-Ins
We select the construction method based on the style of the home, the intended use, the project budget, and the level of architectural detailing required.
Custom built-ins can be created using traditional painted cabinetry or modern factory-finished TFL panels. Both methods can produce a polished, permanent result, but they differ in appearance, detailing, finish options, construction process, and long-term maintenance.
Painted plywood and MDF are well suited for classic built-ins with shaker doors, crown molding, decorative trim, and custom paint colors. TFL systems are ideal for clean contemporary designs, durable wood-look finishes, flat-panel doors, and a more controlled factory finish.
